Jagannath Rathyatra puri live 2014 :Ratha Jatra, the Festival of Chariots of Lord Jagannatha is celebrated every year at Puri, the temple town in Odisha, on the east coast of India. The presiding deities of the main temple, Sri Mandira, Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, with the celestial wheel Sudarshana are taken out from the temple precincts in an elaborate ritual procession to their respective chariots

One of the largest religious congregations for Hindus in the world, the nine-day festival marks the annual sojourn of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra to their birth place.

As per the Hindu calendar, the festival is celebrated on the Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Pakha (waxing moon fortnight) in the month of Ashadh. The Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra is scheduled to be celebrated today on Sunday, July 7, 2024. The Dwitiya Tithi starts from 4:26 AM on July 7 and concludes at 4:59 AM on July 8.

Ahmedabad Rathyatra route

The Rath Yatra is not just a religious event but also a vibrant cultural spectacle. The procession begins at around 7 am from the 400-year-old Lord Jagannath temple in the Jamalpur area. The route spans 16 km through Ahmedabad, passing through several localities, including some communally sensitive areas such as Kalupur, Prem Darwaja, Delhi Chakla, Shahpur Darwaza, and Dariyapur.
